NSW Public Schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
During the enrolment process, you can choose a Special Religious Education (SRE) option for your child from the school’s approved providers. If you do not wish for your child to participate in SRE, you may select either alternative meaningful activities or Special Education in Ethics (if available).
Students who do not have a selection recorded will be placed in alternative meaningful activities, until otherwise advised.
If your preferred Special Religious Education or Special Education in Ethics option is not available, please contact the approved provider.

Special Religious Education at Gregory Hills Public School
At the time of enrolment, parents and carers are required to indicate their child’s SRE preference. If this was not completed, families will be provided with an SRE participation form via School Bytes to complete.
Once a student has commenced at our school, any changes to their SRE participation must be submitted via email to the school or alternatively through the online form available at our school.

SRE Catholic is provided by Catholic Diocese of Wollongong – Oran Park Catholic Parish, Oran Park.

All SRE teachers are authorised and trained by an approved provider.
During the time that SRE classes are being held, students not attending will be in a separate space and will participate in meaningful activities.
